POOCHES IN THE PARK - Bring Your Furry Friend to a Fundraiser for Trooper

For those of you who don't know - there is a very special golden retriever who is calling the Maple Ridge SPCA home. His name is Trooper - and he is the miracle dog. Trooper had been starved, nearly to death by his previous owner. He came to the SPCA weighing only 11 kilograms. (far less than the 30 to 34 kilograms he should have weighed) Trooper's story has touched many across the country - the struggle he endured is reality for a large number of dogs locally, and abroad. It's time for us to give back to our furry friends who can't speak for themselves.

I've decided to put together a photo fundraiser for Trooper, and the Maple Ridge SPCA.
I invite everyone to book a session for their favourite furry friend on Sunday, March 28th 2010.

The session will be held at - Jerry Sulina Park (Which is now an off-leash park!)
It is located at the corner of 132 Avenue and 210 Street in Maple Ridge.

For a minimum donation of $30 you will receive a 15 minute photo session for you and your pooch. You will receive the best 5 high resolution digital images via email after the session is completed. You are free to print, and share these with your friends and family. Every single dollar will go to the BC SPCA.

This event will be weather permitting - if it's raining we will reschedule for April 10th 2010.

Sessions are first come first served, and NEED TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.

Double the Fun - Cody & Islay

Selena and I go way back... wayyyyyyyyy back. I've known Selena for almost as long as I have been alive :)

We met somewhere around 1986 or 87. I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session way back in April 2008, their wedding in June 2008, and family photos in April 2009. It's just so fitting that in March 2010 I had the pleasure of photographing the newest additions to their family - Cody and Islay!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of getting together with an old friend from high school - Sara. She had just had her first little boy Owen 10 days ago. I had a blast catching up, and photographing this adorable little man. What a great family - I can't wait to watch Owen grow up with such a loving Mommy and Daddy! Today I got to meet one of the sweetest little guys around - Baby Oskar.

This little guy was the king of the P's... peeing, pooping and puking. :p
Bodily functions aside, he was a real trooper. We got some awake shots of his beautiful eyes and some perfectly posed sleepy shots too.

Today I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Ryan and his Mommy. His mommy and I had been anticipating this photo shoot for quite a long time -but unfortunately Ryan had other plans. I must have looked like an idiot fake sneezing, beeping, peekaboo-ing, doing everything I could to get him to look at me and smile. Ryan may have had other plans, but the pics still turned out great - smiles or no smiles :p I think he'll grow up to be in a serious profession - it looks good on him! And cheeeeeks - LOOK AT HIS CHEEKS! THOSE are pinchable :)

Today I met up with the most ammmaaazing little boy, Hudson. He was a NATURAL! The session started out with a bit of crying and fussing, but once we got him snuggled up in a knit coccoon he was good to go! We had hours of fun poking and prodding him, and getting him to sleep in some adorable positions. I can't wait to get the rest up on the blog!

I had the pleasure of welcoming this little munchkin into the world by doing his Newborn Session this past December. He was the perfect early Christmas gift, that's for sure! He was such a good little man too - very well behaved and eventually did what we needed him to do ;) (and amazingly enough without any accidents!!) Dad kept rolling his eyes at the cutesy little hats we had ready for him. Mom and I LOVED them, but i KNOW Emmett's going to be a little angry at me when he hits about 13/14 and these photos resurface ;) Stay tuned for Emmett's 6 month photos & 1 year cake smash in the future. We'll be doing that before you know it!!!!

Hey Everyone!!!

I've just returned from my very first trip to LAS VEGAS! wow!
The bright lights, the crowds, and seeing GARTH BROOKS LIVE - it was AMMMAAAZZING.
Unfortunately a few days before we left I started getting one HECK of a cold.
I trudged through Vegas while sick, and it's STILL with me now :(
I have a mountain of emails to go through and I will try to get to them as soon as possible.
For now, I am heading back to bed with my nasal spray, vitamin c, and some sinus meds!

Lady L - BOUDOIR PHOTOS!

With all this talk about the Boudoir Marathon, i thought it was time to get some photos up from our last marathon in May. What a hooooottttttttt day it was!
I can't wait to show you teasers from a bunch of the beautiful woman who took part.
Lady L was one of the participants who had an amazing time at the marathon. She is absolutely STUNNING!!! I can't wait for the next marathon on March 26th & 27th!

This session just goes to show you, SEXY doesn't have to be a skimpy bra and panty set. She ROCKS her little blue dress, the school girl outfit, and EVERYTHING she wore!

2010 Boudoir Marathon!

Due to MANY requests, the 2010 Boudoir Marathon is in the works!!!

Thank you so much for inquiring about my boudoir sessions – this one is going to be a BLAST!!!

The boudoir marathon will be held on Friday March 26th, and Saturday March 27th at the Radisson Hotel in Richmond

Friday and Saturday’s diva package includes:
-Professional hair and make-up courtesy of Vancouver's finest stylists
-a private one hour photo shoot in a beautiful Radisson hotel suite
-a disc of all high resolution edited images, as well as an online password-protected gallery
-the perfect pocket album for your man
$360

You will have one hour for hair and make up, and one hour to complete your photography session with me. This will allow for various poses, and outfit changes if you would like to do so. I will be bringing along some props and backgrounds, but feel free to bring anything you’re man would love to see you in, such as a sports jersey, button down shirt, a tie, hat, etc. Bring heels to go with some of your outfits, and jewelry too! It’s all about making the session about YOU, so if you’re a cowgirl – lets rock that cowboy hat. Is your man a construction worker? See if you can sneak out a hard hat, and tool belt! The possibilities are endless!

The schedule for the marathon is as follows:

If your deposit hasn’t been made by then, your space will become available to any other interested parties. The remainder of the balance is to be paid on the day of your scheduled photo-shoot. Payment can be made by cash or cheque.

After reading the Richmond Food Bank Society's Website I decided to donate cash instead of cans. For every $1 they spend, they can buy $6 worth of food. So the 35 comments, equals $210 in groceries for the food bank! Thank you soooo much for every comment. It has made sure a family in Richmond will have food to eat this Christmas.

Erin & Dean's engagement session was set for a Saturday in October.
We had hoped and hoped for nice weather.
Monday - Friday rain.
Saturday - supposed to rain.
Sunday - supposed to rain.

Monday - Friday it poured.
Saturday rolled around, and we were AMAZED.
It was one of the most beautiful days we had had in a LONG LONG time.
IT was just PERFECT for our engagement session.
(and Sunday poured rain again!)

I met with Erin & Dean out in sunny White Rock, and we had a great time wandering around some new locations, and then hitting up an old favourite of mine (the Stewart Farm House!)
I can't wait for their wedding in the Spring.
If it's anything like them, there's going to be a lot of laughing, and smiling!

I had the pleasure of meeting the S family last year when the youngest was only 6 months old. I couldn't believe what a difference a year makes! We met up at Gary Point Park in Steveston for a very energetic photo session! Have you ever tried to photograph 3 kids, under the age of 5 at once?! I think I was exhausted by the end of it! :P BUT, what a great time we had!!!!

1 weekend... 2 weddings.
BOTH grooms have the same last name.
and both have picked red and black for their wedding colours.
That, my friends, was the September long weekend! :)

Meet Erin & Nik. (Ok, well you met them last year when I did their pumpkin patch engagement session!)
Erin *& Nik got married at the fabulous Pitt Meadows Golf Club.
It's quickly becoming one of my favourite venues to shoot at. I have to give a big thumbs up to Julie, the coordinator there. She's on the ball!

I had such a great time shooting Erin & Nik's big day. The weather was iffy, but held out long enough for us to do the majority of our shots outdoors.

For Alex & Malcolm's big day the weather forecast was just terrible.
It was supposed to downpour all day - more rain in one day than we had had in MONTHS.
As I made the drive out to Langley things looked optimistic. There was a break in the rain, and the clouds hung around for some perfect lighting - woohoo! The ceremony was absolutely GORGEOUS, and it was able to be held in the beautiful outdoor location at Redwoods Golf Course. Everything was perfect - looked beautiful, and dry! we headed out into Fort Langley for a few photos then.... the rain returned :( it put a damper on the outdoor shots, but not in the bubbly spirit of Alex and Malcolm. They were ready to arrive to the reception in STYLE! I got a real chuckle out of their hot rod golf cart!!!! Thanks so much for having me share in your special day Alex and Malcolm!!! It was an amazing emotion filled celebration.

This little guy was such a trooper as we tried to pose him, and turn him into a baby pretzel :p Needless to say it didn't work too well, so we went for the more natural shots :p

As soon as I had our consultation with Jackie I knew she'd be a blast to work with. She has that fun bubbly personality that is just so contagious. I was really looking forward to their big day as it was held at the gorgeous Brock House Restaurant in Vancouver too! The details were phenomenal, the weather was PERFECT, and it was one of the most gorgeous and emotional events that I have had the pleasure of photographing.

First off.. I have to apologize!

First order of business:
Angie & Ian's wedding.
Angie and Ian had a beautiful day at a GORGEOUS location.
The ceremony and reception were held right in her parents backyard.
It was soooo perfect for them!!!
Angie contacted me after talking to Erin at Knot your Average Event
You could see the attention to detail, and the amount of planning on Erin and Angie's behalf! Ok, enough of my blabbing, lets see the photos!

The evening ended with a splash..... LITERALLY!!!

This year, I have had some amazing clients. They trust me to capture one of the most important days of their loves - and that is an HONOUR!!! Chelsey and Lee's wedding was definitely one of my favourites. They invited me out to Manning Park to capture their gorgeous outdoor wedding. Chelsey was a rock star - up for ANYTHING. Most brides would have a heart attack if I asked to run around the resort with their wedding dress in tow - hanging it in trees. She giggled, and was excited to see what I could create - YAY!!!

They also allowed a ton of time for the 3 of us to explore the trails, and gave me free rein to use whatever jumped out at me. Not many brides would say ok to sitting on a damp log in the middle of the forrest!!!

Days like this, are what wedding photographers dream of. We had the perfect venue, the perfect weather, and the perfect couple! The Pitt Meadows Golf Course is quickly becoming one of my favourites... their seafood buffet is drool worthy, Julie the coordinator is AMAZING, and the location is beautiful. How can you go wrong?!?!

I had the pleasure of photographing several special moments in Andrea and Jeff's lives. I did Brooklyn's newborn photos last year, their engagement photos a few months ago, and this July I photographed their beautiful wedding. The group was a BLAST and we had a great time trudging around the golf course, with the bridal party ordering drinks to be delivered... to the parking lot!

Jessica and Paul had an unbelievable day. From the girls getting ready at her parent's gorgeous house, to a beautiful church ceremony, to an amazing thunder and lighting storm to entertain the crowds. I have known Jessica for quite a few years (we had met in high school) and i was super excited to be shooting her big day. It was unbelievable how fast the day went by - 10 hours gone in a blink of an eye. (I can't imagine how fast it seemed to the Bride and Groom!) I think it went by so quickly because we were laughing the WHOLE time. Paulo's quite the character, and the whole group kept giggling. Here are a few of my favorites from their big day :)

Deanne and Gino had a gorgeous day out at Swan-E-Set Bay Resort. Deanne was such an easy going bride, I was really looking forward to having fun with the photos we could take. I really liked how they personalized their wedding party by having their children stand up with them. You could really see how this was a family event, and everyone was taking part. I think I teared up a little when all of the kids got to sign the marriage certificate!!!! It was an eventful day - about 2 minutes before Deanne walked down the aisle, I was stung in the palm of my hand by a wasp. My fingers swelled up like sausages and my arm tingled all the way up to my shoulder for a good hour. BUT, as they say, the show must go on :p I present to you - Deanne & Gino! :)

I met Brock and Louise last year, and I knew their wedding was going to be an absolute blast. They are so easy going, fun loving, and full of life - you just can't help but laugh and enjoy yourself around them. Their wedding day was HOT - one of the hottest days of the year - but that didn't stop us from hanging out around the Pitt Meadows Golf Club for some photos!

As you can see by the first photo, this session was HOT!!
C&L had said they wanted to do their engagement session downtown Vancouver - which sent me into a panic. I'm terrified of Downtown Vancouver. (I know, I'm insane) But I"m a small town girl, who doesn't venture down there very often. I had heard great things about Coal Harbour, and suggested it as the venue for the photos. Oh my goodness, am I ever glad C&L decided to go with my suggestion! We had a blast wandering the streets down there, getting lots of great shots. Believe it or not, I can't wait to go back :)

Little Miss Jeevyn made her appearance in this world, a little earlier than expected. She wasn't due until August 6th, but she liked June a lot better. Weighing whole 3 lbs 11 oz when she was born! She is by far the smallest baby I have had the pleasure of photographing!!

It's always nice when someone you grew up with gives you the honor of being their wedding photographer. I remember Soroush from back in the day of Cubs (my dad was a leader). Soroush was married to the love of his life this past July in a beautiful Ceremony at Meadow Gardens Golf Course. It was one of the hottest days of the year (about 35 degrees!), but we made it work! Congratulations you two! :)

Shannon and Jay's wedding was "Vintage Glam" at its best. They had an absolutely amazing wedding day - straight out of a fairy tale. The bride was stunning, the groom was handsome, and the wedding party was ready to have a BLAST! The weather thankfully held out until we were able to get under the tents, and then that "lucky wedding rain" started to fall.... it didn't last long, and it sure didn't dampen the party!

On a dreary July morning I got to meet a little ray of sunshine: Aislynn. She was in town visiting family with her Momma, and we snuck some time to get her in all her glory. Now, Aislynn is usually a very happy and cheerful munchkin..... but do you think we could even get a smile out of her?! Of course not :p But that's ok. I think the results are so adorable and perfect, even without smiles. (ok, one pirate smile that's beyond cute)

well, well, well.. I am sooooooooooooo very sorry for the lack of blog posts.. I assure you it hasn't been a lack of photographing people... 6 weddings in July alone, it has been BEYOND busy... I'm going to try and get everything caught up, so be prepared for an OVERLOAD!

Meet Andrea and Jeff (and their munchkin)... I photographed Andrea's brother wedding last July, and am lucky enough to be photographing theirs next week. After a rain out on their first scheduled session, we managed to meet up on a gorgeous evening out at Pitt Lake and Swan-e-Set Bay golf course for some photos. I had a blast with these two (well, 3) and cannot wait to photograph their big day. I can tell already that there will be a LOT of fun and laughing!!

Sara and Jody jetted off to Cuba back in late April to get married on the beach. It was an absolutely gorgeous setting - but unfortunately I couldn't be there with them :( I had the pleasure of photographing their at home reception this past weekend. And I tell yah , WAS IT EVER A PARTY ?!?!?! Probably one of the most outrageous fun parties I've been to in a LONG time :) Congratulations Sara + Jody. You guys are going to make damn cute babies ;)

Her wedding bands have 7 diamonds - one for each of the years they were together before getting egaged- AWWWW!

Nine months ago I had the pleasure of attending our good friend's Barry & Kelsey's wedding. we had an absolute blast - these two ARE the life of the party. These two have done a lot in the past nine months - most importantly growing a baby! Today I was very excited to meet Matthew - the newest member of the family and only 2 days old. He was an absolute doll. I was very excited to hold him when I arrived at the hospital, and he promptly fell asleep in my arms. I can't wait to take some non-hospital newborn pics of this little man!!!

Congrats Kelsey & Barry!!! You've got a little heartbreaker on your hands!

I've finally narrowed it down, and have for you my very first wedding blog of 2009 :)
Rochelle and Jason had an absolutely PERFECT day. The sun was out, with some great cloud cover to work with, the temperature was nice, but not SCOARCHING, and they were an absolutely drop dead gorgeous/handsome Bride & Groom.

The day started out at the Diamond Alumni Centre up at SFU. I arrived early to capture some of the gorgeous details Rochelle had put together for the big day.

I loved the all white lines!

Rochelle's first look at the decor - I think it's safe to say she loved it! :)

I stumbled upon the best man practicing his speech for later on... then we headed out to the Barnet Marine Park for some bridal party shots. I LOVE this place!!!

I Loooooooooved this large rose bush for photos. The flowers totally set the mood ;)

Now.. this one needs a little explaining.....
I asked if they were willing to do a bit of off roading.....
and judging from Rochelles shoes from a few pictures above, you could tell that her foot ware is probably not the best for the job. So, in pure photographer fashion, i gave her my shoes, and walked on the barnacles and rocks in my socks :) Whatever you have to do to get the shot, right?

I'd say it was worth it :)
